Weekend performances of note

A “performance installation” will take place at Out North at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. “Coda: Requiem for Tempus Perfectum, Opus 11” is “conducted” by Jsun Charles-Jeremiah Parizo and described as “a musical metaphysical manifestation of the soul” that includes assemblage artifact, drawings and prints as well as some kind of performance,. The art will remain on display through March 10.

Also at Out North, Jack Dalton reprises “Raven Returns,” billed as “the entire history of the Yup’ik people in under two hours.” Friday’s show starts at 8 p.m. with additional shows on Saturday and Sunday.

The final performances of “A Shayna Maidel” will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday at Anchorage Community Theatre. This production about two sisters confronting personal and cultural chasms between them after World War II has received a lot of praise from those who have caught it over the past few weekends; some say it’s the best show so far this season.

"Claybourne Park" at Cyrano's continues and the Winter Classics chamber music concert series begins. Both are noted elsewhere in this blog.
