Letter: City employees, like taxpayers, must accept Assembly’s decisions

Published: February 17, 2013

Mayor Dan Sullivan’s municipal labor law reform will return to government of Anchorage by the people for the people from our current system of government of Anchorage by the unions for the unions.

Municipal employee unions are an affront to one vote per person by reason of disproportionate influence in municipal elections. This influence has allowed an excessive level of taxation and spending in Anchorage.

Municipal taxpayers must accept the financial decisions of the Assembly; municipal employees must do the same.
