Aces defenseman Wrenn headed to the AHL again

Posted on February 19, 2013

Good for Alaska Aces rookie defenseman William Wrenn of Anchorage -- he's headed to the AHL for the second time this season.

The ECHL leaders have loaned Wrenn to the Texas Stars.

Wrenn earlier this season made his AHL debut with the Worcester Sharks and played three games for the club. He also played in the ECHL All-Star Game.

In 51 games for the Aces, Wrenn has earned 5-16--21 totals and a +1 rating.

Aces defenseman Corey Syvret remains with AHL Toronto. The Aces recently regained the services of defenseman Kane Lafranchise, who has twice been loaned to AHL clubs to mark the first AHL promotions of his career.

Alaska closes a four-game roadie to Utah with a game Wednesday night. In the first three games of the series, the Aces have racked two wins and a shootout loss.

They are scheduled to fly home Thursday and open a three-game series against the Las Vegas Wranglers beginning Friday night at Sullivan Arena.
