Recap: Detroit vs. Philadelphia

Roy Halladay and Justin Verlander each allowed one run over two innings of starting work, as the Philadelphia Phillies and Detroit Tigers played to a 5-5 tie on Sunday in spring training action.

Ryan Howard recorded two doubles and an RBI, while Kevin Frandsen and Domonic Brown each smacked solo shots for the Phillies, who opened spring training with an 8-3 setback against Houston.

Victor Martinez hit a solo home run and Omar Infante added two RBI for Detroit, which dropped its spring training opener to Toronto on Saturday.
