Aces hit 40-win mark for eighth time in 10 ECHL seasons

Published: February 24, 2013

Forty wins or more is indicative of a strong season in the ECHL, which features a 72-game regular season, and the Alaska Aces met that standard today in their 58th game.

Alaska's 1-0 win over visiting Las Vegas pushed their league-leading record to 40-12-6.

That marks the eighth time in 10 ECHL seasons they have won at least 40 games. In that span, the Aces have never done worse than eight games above .500 in the regular season -- they currently are 28 games above .500 -- and their current 86 points leaves them with a strong shot at cracking 100 points for the third time in their ECHL history.

The Aces are the only team in the 23-team ECHL to get to 40 wins this season.
