Edwin Jackson tossed two scoreless innings in his Cubs debut as Chicago delivered a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies in a spring training encounter.

Jackson, signed to a four-year contract by the Cubs in December, yielded just two hits and needed just eight pitches to get through his start.

Dave Sappelt paced Chicago offensively by going 2-for-2 with a solo home run and scoring twice, while Christian Villaneva also homered in the win.

Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin was sharp as well, retiring all six batters he faced and registering one strikeout in his stint.

Carlos Gonzalez finished 2-for-2 with a run scored for Colorado, with Ben Paulsen registering an RBI single in the loss.
