Letter: In our best interest?

Published: February 28, 2013

I’m at a loss as to where to begin with all the various unwise and plainly odd efforts of Republicans to give away the farm or hollow out the heart of the municipality, speaking of Mayor Sullivan’s constant attempt to put his thumb on the scale of fair employee negotiations. The city needs the people who do the work, not the mayor and his cronies.

The mayor should try to negotiate in good faith.

On another level, our legislators in Juneau seem hellbent on handing over a large amount of state money to the oil companies and raiding the school budget for the benefit of private, often religious schools.

These are not lawmakers working in the best interests of the state, in my opinion as a 60-plus-year resident of Anchorage
