Spurs lose Parker for a month

Published: March 1, 2013

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is expected to be sidelined for about a month because of a sprained left ankle.

Parker was hurt during Friday's 130-102 win over Sacramento and tests Saturday morning revealed a Grade 2 sprain.

The injury occurred with just under five minutes left in the third quarter when Parker drove the lane for a layup and landed awkwardly. He had to be helped off the floor.

In 56 games this season, Parker is averaging team bests of 21.0 points and 7.6 assists to go along with 3.1 rebounds.
