Dimond 48, Kodiak 38
The Dimond girls basketball team picked up a 48-38 nonconference road win in Kodiak on Friday, benefitting from three double-digit scorers and stellar shooting.
Aminata Cole led the Lynx with 13 points, Sierra Afoa hit for 11 and Tara Thompson notched 10. Cole, who also grabbed seven rebounds, hit 6 of 7 field-goal attempts to help Dimond shoot nearly 53 percent from the field.
Hannah Wandersee scored a game-high 14 points for Kodiak.
Wasilla 56, Colony 29
Kyla Dinkel's double-double helped the Wasilla girls spoil host Colony's Senior Night on Friday, the Warriors posting a 56-29 Northern Lights Conference basketball victory.
Dinkel racked 12 points and 14 rebounds, but Alysha Devine led all scorers with 14 points. Alexis Imoe pitched in 10 points for the Warriors, who 27-14 at halftime and closed on a 21-8 run in the fourth quarter.
Mary Klapperich deposited 10 points and hauled in seven rebounds to lead Colony.
Wasilla improved to 10-0 in the Northern Lights Confernce, and Colony fell to 5-5.
Colony 57, Wasilla 44
Big games from Damien Fulp and Nathan Umbarger propelled the Colony boys basketball team to a 57-44 Northern Lights Conference win over visiting Wasilla on Friday.
Fulp led all scorers with 19 points, and Umbarger accumulated 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to help the Knights finish with a 10-0 conference record.
Dane Kuiper paced Wasilla with 15 points and seven rebounds, and Cameron Brown tossed in 13 points for the Warriors.
South 55, Grace 42
South powered past Grace Christian 55-42 in a boys basketball endowment game Friday at South High.
Wade Ellis sparked the Wolverines with 15 points, and Louis Page dropped in 11.
Alex Fancher led the Grace attack with 14 points.
East 83, Lathrop 58
Jarred Laws poured in 26 points Friday to propel East to an 83-58 nonconference boys basketball win over visiting Larop.
East, which also got 17 points from Xavier Johnson and 10 apiece from Travon Bracket and Austin Huss, used a big second quarter to forge a 47-29 halftime lead.
Gabriel Cunningham notched 11 points for Lathrop, with Tramon Washington and Tevin Gladden each chipping in 10.
