Recap: Seattle vs. Colorado

Casper Wells went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs scored to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 16-6 rout of the Colorado Rockies in a spring training clash.

Kyle Seager added a three-run homer to the Mariners' 16-hit barrage, with Kelly Shoppach also collecting three RBI as part of a 2-for-4 day. Raul Ibanez also homered while finishing 2-for-2 with two RBI and scoring three times, while Eric Thames had a pair of RBI doubles in the win.

Seattle also received two effective innings from starting pitcher Jon Garland, with the right-hander scattering two hits and a pair of walks while not allowing a run.

Kent Matthes delivered a two-run homer and Nolan Arenado went 2-for-3 with a solo shot to pace Colorado offensively.

Rockies starter Juan Nicasio was tagged for three runs on four hits and walked three over the first three innings. Reliever Parker Frazier recorded just one out while surrendering five runs on three hits, including Seager's homer, in the bottom of the fifth.
