Anchorage — The Anchorage School Board is accepting applications to fill a board seat recently vacated by Gretchen Guess.

The board will appoint someone to fill the seat from April 1 through April 2014.

Applications are available at the superintendent's office at 5530 E. Northern Lights Blvd., or online at asdk12.org. They are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.

Candidates must be at least 18, be registered to vote, and be an Anchorage resident.

A special board meeting is scheduled Saturday March 30 to appoint the new board member.
