I hear repeated objections to oil tax reform from Sens. Hollis French and Bill Wielechowski and Rep Les Gara. They continually point to the notion that “jobs are up on the North Slope.”
I understand oil throughput in the trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) is down 26 percent over the last five years. Imagine how the number of jobs will increase when the owners have to start dismantling TAPS because it is no longer viable. Gosh, that will sure prove that ACES is working!
