MICHAEL NANCY MASON photo — via KTUU

Michael Nancy Mason provided KTUU photographs of the rescue of a cow moose by snowmachiners from a hole in the ice over Alexander Creek in the Susitna River valley. "While hauling up creek found this cow in the water. She was pretty well wore out and about to give up. We got her out with two snowmachines and then wiped her down and rubbed her. Checked on her a few hours later and she seemed to be doing good. I swear she knew we were helping her." Go to KTUU for the whole series of photos.
