Posted on March 12, 2013

The Alaska parade to national tournaments will include the Alaska Wolves U-18 Tier II club, which over the weekend won the state championship and is next headed to USA Hockey's Tier II nationals in Hartford, Conn., April 3-7.

The Wolves won all five of their games -- they outscored opponents 31-7 -- and capped their tournament run with a 4-2 win over the Kenai Ice Hawks.

Solomon Mabry and Joel Tomuro led the offense with 11 points each. Nathan Wright (3-0, 1.00 goals-against average and Dustin Fritz (2-0, 2.00 goals-against average and .918 save percentage) backstopped the club admirably.

For many of the Wolves, this marks their third straight trip to nationals; fourth straight for Karson Frisk.
