Alaska connections help win D-III title

A couple of Alaska connections helped Wisconsin Eau-Claire seize the men's Division III championship Saturday with a 5-3 win over Oswego in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Former UAA defenseman Drew Darwitz, a senior, contributed two assists and junior forward Jon Waggoner of Fairbanks had an assist. Eau-Claire also includes former UAA forward Mark Pustin, a junior who did not play.

Waggoner finished with 9-8--15 totals in 21 games. Darwitz went 2-11--13 in 28 games and Pustin racked 8-19--26 totals in 27 games.
