Former UAA winger Grant gets two-game ECHL ban

Published: March 19, 2013

Former UAA winger Tommy Grant, recently assigned by NHL San Jose to the San Francisco Bulls for his first ECHL stint in two seasons as a pro, has been suspended for two games and fined the usual "undisclosed amount'' by the ECHL.

Grant was busted for an elbowing major and game misconduct Sunday in a 6-2 loss to visiting Utah. Grant's major came in the opening minute of the third period and the Grizzlies tacked on two power-play strikes during that major to gain a 6-2 cushion and cruise to the finish line.

Grant will sit out games Friday and Saturday against Stockton.

In four games with the Bulls, Grant has put up 1-3--4 and +2 totals.
