41 people apply for empty Anchorage School Board seat

Forty-one people have applied for the vacant Anchorage School Board seat created by the resignation of board member Gretchen Guess, the school district announced Wednesday. The person appointed by the board will servce until the April 2014 municipal election.

The board has scheduled a special meeting for 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the ASD Education Center to interview candidates and make an appointment.

According to an announcement from the district, the applicants are: Anita Baker, Pearley Bingham, Crista Burson, Roselynn Cacy, Thomas Corkran, Stephanie Cornwell-George, Ron Devon, Anand Dubey, David Dunsmore, Brent Fisher, Guy Fisher III, Ashleigh Gaines, Mary Gore, Wayne Grediagin, Marc Grober, Paul Hatcher, Corey Hester, John Hoffman, Tasha Hotch, Nels Johnson, Lilian Koenig, Donn Liston, Bethany Marcum, Starr Marsett, Angela Oberlitner, Tommy O'Malley, Kameron Perez-Verdia, Julia Petersen, Steve Pratt, Carl Propes Jr., Anne Reed, Cheryl Rosa, Jennifer Sees, Derrick Slaughter, Grace Sy, Tregarrick Taylor, Clayton Walker Sr., John Wanamaker, Gail Weinstein, Anne Wilkas and Vatoua Yang.

Guess is moving from Alaska for job in Jacksonville, Fla.
