Wisconsin keeps rolling at WCHA Final Five

Published: March 22, 2013

Wisconsin continued its late-season run today with a 4-1 semifinal victory over top-seeded St. Cloud State in the WCHA Final Five in St. Paul, Minn.

That marks five straight wins, and seven in the last eight games, for Bucky Badger, which got a goal and assist from Joseph LaBate and 30 saves from Joel Rumpel. Even so, Wisconsin remained No. 16 in the PairWise Rankings, and looks like it may have to win the WCHA playoff title -- the Badgers will play the winner of tonight's semi between Colorado College and Minnesota -- and get in the NCAAs through the automatic berth that comes with said playoff title.

St. Cloud, which swept UAA in the first round, fell to a tie for 12th in the PairWise after starting the day tied for seventh.
