Crabb clears waivers, headed to AHL Hershey

Published: March 23, 2013

Washington Capitals right wing Joey Crabb of Anchorage has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, the Washington Post reports.

Crabb, who had two goals in 26 games, was moved to clear roster space for defenseman Mike Green.

Crabb is on a one-year, one-way $950,000 deal with the Caps, which means he continues to draw that salary even in the AHL.

Crabb started the season with the Alaska Aces during the NHL lockout.
