A 7-year-old boy was shot in the head with a BB gun Saturday in Hydaburg and was treated at the village health clinic, Alaska State Troopers reported on Sunday.
"Subsequent investigation revealed that another 7-year-old male had been shooting his BB gun near the school and had recklessly shot the victim," troopers reported.
At about 12:25 p.m., village public safety officers responded to a report about the shooting. The incident was reported to the state Office of Juvenile Justice.
Troopers haven't identified the children involved.
Hydaburg is on Prince of Wales Island northwest of Ketchikan.
