Wine of the week: 2010 Bridlewood Blend 175

March 28, 2013

Red blends are the latest thing in the plethora of wine offerings. There are plenty out there to be sure. Some of them are a just too sappy, jammy or sweet for my taste. Bridlewood, however, has created Blend 175 out of syrah, cabernet, sauvignon and zinfandel. It's polished and harmonious, neither too much syrah nor too much zinfandel. The nose is mostly black fruits, but not raspberry and not zinny. The texture is silky and nicely full across the palate. The mouth's black fruits and a few layers of depth make a refreshing experience in today's homogenous wine world. Costs about $15.
