The Alaska Aces have added former UAF sniper Andy Taranto, according to the ECHL.

Taranto, a right wing, led the Nanooks in goals and points this past season with 16-14--30 totals in 37 games. That earned the senior second-team All-CCHA honors. He's also a former CCHA Rookie of the Year.

In 146 career games, he earned 59-61--120 totals.

Taranto (pronounced Toronto, like the city) possesses a quick accurate shot and he especially tormented UAA. In eight career games against the Seawolves, he furnished eight goals and six assists. All that helped the Nanooks win the Governor's Cup in all four of Taranto's seasons at UAF.

Taranto, 24, accompanied the Aces to California, where they close the ECHL regular season with games Friday and Saturday against the Ontario Reign.
