WCHA loses 3 of 4 games in NCAAs

The final verdict is in from the first day of the NCAA tournament and it didn't reflect well on the WCHA, which sent six teams to the 16-team tournament, most of any league.

Three of the four WCHA teams that opened the tournament Friday lost. Minnesota fell 3-2 to Yale in OT (all nine seconds of it); Denver fell to New Hampshire 5-2; and Wisconsin was whacked 6-1 by UMass-Lowell. So, safe to say the East lorded it over the West.

The only win for the WCHA was North Dakota's 2-1 win over Niagara.
