Young earns 3 medals

Michael Young of Anchorage won three medals, two of them gold, over the weekend in the 2013 Ozawa Cup International Karate Tournament in Las Vegas.

Young, 47, won gold medals in the men's 35 and older Black Belt Kumite Fighting Division and in the 45 and older division of the same discipline, and also earned a bronze medal in the men's 45 and old Black Belt Kata Forms Division.

Also, Mary Belluomini, 52, won the silver medal in the women's 18 and older Intermediate Kumite Fighting Division. And Giuliano Belluomini, 21, took fifth place in the men's 18 and older Black Belt Kumite Fighting Division.

The tournament drew more than 1,200 competitors from around the world.
