Service 2, Eagle River 0

With two first-half goals from Haleigh Van Allen on Thursday and goalie Tristyn Bailey's third shutout of the season, the Service girls soccer team put together a 2-0 win over Eagle River at The Dome.

Van Allen opened scoring on a shot over the Eagle River goalkeeper's head from about 35 yards out in the 26th minute. She struck again in the 34th minute on a crossing header, getting an assist from Madasin Jennings.

Service improved to 3-0-1 and Eagle River fell to 2-2-0.



Schedule announced

The UAA volleyball team's schedule for next season is now public knowledge.

Seawolves coach Chris Green announced next fall's schedule Thursday, which included the lineup for the 17th SpringHill Suites Invitational, hosted by UAA on Sept. 5-7.

UAA will begin pursuit of its sixth straight winning season with three road matches, the first coming at NCAA Division II West Region champion BYU-Hawaii on Aug. 29, followed by matches with Chaminade and Hawaii-Hilo.

The Seawolves return home to host the SpringHill Suites Invitational, which will include teams from every region in the country. The West Region's Notre Dame de Namur (Calif.) will visit, along with American International (Mass.), Augustana (S.D.), Claflin (S.C.) and Texas A&M-Kingsville.

UAA's Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule kicks off Sept. 19 with a home match against rival Seattle Pacific.
