ECHL: Colorado and Idaho are working overtime

Quite a bang-for-your-buck start to the Colorado-Idaho ECHL playoff series -- visiting Colorado seized a 6-5 overtime win tonight, one night after Idaho opened the best-of-7 series with a 4-3 overtime victory in Boise.

Kevin Ulanski scored 17:37 into extra time tonight to give the Eagles a 1-1 series deadlock as the teams move to Colorado for Game 3 on Saturday night.

Colorado outshot Idaho 51-43. Idaho owned a 4-2 lead after two periods, so, whoops.

Two games, two OTs, pretty fun. Of course, that doesn't quite compare to a first-round series in the Western Hockey League, where the Kelowna Rockets stormed back from a 3-0 series deficit -- Seattle won all three in OT -- to win Game 7, and the series, in OT on Wednesday night. Oh, and Kelowna won Game 6 in OT, so five OTs in seven games. Not to mention Kelowna forced overtime in Game 7 with a goal with just seven seconds left in regulation.

So, nice job, so far Eagles and Steelheads, but you've still got to put up three more OT games to match Kelowna and Seattle.
