— Food trucks have been a growing trend in Anchorage, and now there's a weekly meeting place to find most of them for lunch. The Food Truck Carnival takes places every Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., in the overflow parking next to Chilkoot Charlie's on Spenard Road.

Urban Bamboo's John D'Elia said the idea was to get everyone in one central area and create something that could be a year-round event. This week will be the third time they've gathered under the windmill next to Koot's, and five trucks will be on hand: Urban Bamboo, Wheel Good Food, Kastle Kreations, Tiers From Heaven and Momma's Grizzly Grub, the Wasilla team that was featured in Season 3 of Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race."

And to complete the carnival atmosphere, the Alaska Fire Circus will perform while you chow down.
