Tong Thao from Palmer, Alaska will be the first student competing at the Poetry Out Loud  National Semifinal, Region 3, in Washington DC, 5pm ET (1 p.m. Alaska Time), Monday, April 29.

When to watch

The Poetry Out Loud semifinals take place on Monday, April 29, 2013, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm EDT, where 53 high school students from Eastern, Central, and Western/Pacific regions will compete in three, separate semifinals.

 

""  Region 1 (East Central and Northeast States): 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

""  Region 2 (Midwest & South Central states): 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

""  Region 3 (Upper Northwest & Western states): 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
