House expected to vote on oil tax overhaul Saturday

JUNEAU -- House Majority Leader Lance Pruitt says the plan is for the House to vote on an oil tax overhaul Saturday.

The Legislature is scheduled to end Sunday, but Pruitt says leadership is looking at possible contingencies should the Senate need more time to review whatever passes from the House. Those include possibly staying a bit longer to finish work on the bill. He says some members have asked for legal opinions on whether lawmakers can go past 90 days or whether they have to come back in a special session.

SB21 was on the House calendar for Friday. But Pruitt says House leaders wanted to give members enough time to review the latest version of the bill, advanced from the House Finance Committee late Thursday night.
