Nate Thompson takes puck off head, but seems OK (UPDATE)

Posted by Doyle Woody, dwoody@adn.com on April 13, 2013

Tampa Bay Lightning center Nate Thompson of Anchorage took a Mike Green slap shot off the face today, and the blow in the first period shattered his visor and cut him, but he seemed to be OK -- you know, other than his blood leaking all over this face.

If he wasn't wearing a visor, of course, the damage could have been worse.

Looks like Thompson, who as they say, went off for repairs, was OK. He returned to the game. Of course he did. He's a hockey player. (UPDATE: According to ice time reported by nhl.com, Thompson came back to play in the second period, but he does not appear to have taken any shifts in the third period).

Anyhow, check video of the scary play here,
