Yale rules Division I hockey

Yale, which barely qualified for the NCAA Division I tournament, went the distance today with a 4-0 victory over Quinnipiac that earned the Bulldogs the national championship.

Jeff Malcolm stopped 36 shots for Yale.

The game was scoreless until just four seconds remained in the second period, when Yale's Clinton Bourbonais scored. He and Andrew Miller each furnished one goal and one assist.

Pretty sweet season for the ECAC -- today's game was an All-ECAC final.
