Senior winger Andy Taranto, who led UAF in goals and points with 16-14--30 totals this season, was named the team's Most Valuable Player at its awards banquet tonight.
Taranto is currently playing for the ECHL's Alaska Aces, although he has missed the last three playoff games with a lower-body injury and did not travel with the team to San Francisco this week.
Taranto was a second-team All-CCHA pick.

Pumphouse Team Player Award -- Senior goaltender Steve Thompson of Anchorage.
Pat and Gerry Shields Longjevity Award -- Team doctor Cary Keller.
Tavis MacMillan Alumni Award -- Dima Kulmanovsky.
