UAA has one of four Division I openings for a head coach

The University of Denver named former Maine star Jim Montgomery as its head coach today -- he replaces George Gwozdecky, who was inexplicably fired after racking two national titles and a ton of 20-win seasons -- and that leaves UAA's vacancy as one of four in Division I.

Ohio State today gave Mark Osiecki the gate, buying him out.

So, seeking head coaches -- and there are only 59 such jobs in Division I -- are UAA, UConn, Maine and Ohio State.

UAA athletic director Steve Cobb has said the school could be down to finalists as soon as the end of this business week, or soon after that.
