Letter: Our senators lack courage

April 20, 2013

The next time some loony walks into a shopping mall, church or school, armed with a gun with a 30-round clip and kills everything that moves, Begich and Murkowski should remember their votes against background checks. The next time an ex-con pulls out a gun and shoots a cop, our senators should be ashamed of their votes against background checks. The bill that they voted down would not have harmed any Alaskan. The provision of the bill would have offered some protection instead.

The lack of courage and fear of the NRA, demonstrated by my senators, is simply despicable. Shame, shame, shame.
