Providence Alaska Medical Center has announced free breast screenings this week for women, according to the hospital's website. Mammograms are available to women ages 40-64 who are uninsured, underinsured, with high insurance deductibles or who meet "income guidelines." Call the hospital's mammogram hotline at (907) 212-7966 for more information and to schedule an appointment. You'll get an answering machine; leave a message and you should receive a call back within one business day. Women must have an appointment to get in.
