New weekly web series focuses on Alaska

— Alaska Public Media will premiere a new web series called "Indie Alaska" on Monday. A collaboration with PBS Digital Studios, the documentary series will feature a 5-7 minute episode each week that focuses on the uniqueness of Alaska, capturing "the diverse and colorful lifestyles of everyday Alaskans at work and at play." John Norris, one of the show's producers, called it an "anti-reality show reality show."

Norris said future episodes will feature the polka band that plays the Ski Train each year, an ice diver, a singer-songwriter and a Native Youth Olympics athlete. New videos will be posted Mondays at alaskapublic.org, and if you think you have a story to include in the series, contact Norris at jnorris@alaskapublic.org or let them know on Alaska Public Media's Facebook page.

Stream a trailer for the show below, which features music by local electronic group Starship Amazing.
