Letter: Harder to discuss different view

May 4, 2013

I enjoy reading the Sunday Anchorage Daily News and drinking my coffee. I am also excited about the five guest editorial board members, who were mentioned in the April 28 Sunday paper. One of your members, John Staser, stated “I love nothing more that to discuss controversial subjects with people who have a different view than I do.” I too  feel that way. I do find it harder though to have those actual conversations with real people nowadays. So I read all that is written from all points of view.

It bothers me that you have a conservative writer Paul Jenkins who starts off within the first paragraph with words like “scheming,” “spinning” and “outright lies.” He reminds me of one of those radical talk show hosts.
