Letter: Dysfunctional government

May 9, 2013

I watched some of the Benghazi hearings recently and began wondering why the Democrats just didn’t hang signs around their necks reading “State Department Defenders” and the Republicans, “State Department Attackers.”

Instead of the quest for empirical truth, everything in Washington, D.C., these days is “political truth.” If readers are scanning between the lines with an electron microscope to determine what side I’m on, they’ll be disappointed. I think both sides are wrong.

The self-serving, self-perpetuating liberal versus conservative agendas in government are obsolete and a mockery of the tenets our Founding Fathers put forth in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. With the exception of a few members of Congress, I’ve given up on all of them.
