Cole, Christianson hoist NAHL's Robertson Cup

Forwards Ryan Cole and Gage Christianson of Anchorage reached the promised land in their league tonight -- they helped the Amarillo Bulls win the NAHL's Robertson Cup.

Cole racked second-period goals 2:26 apart -- one short-handed -- in Amarillo's 5-0 championship win over the Wenatchee Wild in Frisco, Texas.

Just Sunday, Wenatchee throttled Amarillo 7-0 in the round-robin portion of the tournament. But Amarillo's two overtime wins earlier in the four-team tournament advanced it to the final, where it triumphed.

Amarillo was so good this season it verged on jaw-dropping -- combine the regular season (46-7-7), two rounds of the playoffs (6-1) and four games in the Robertson Cup tournament (3-1), and the Bulls went a ridiculous (55-9-7).

Not to put too fine a point on it, but that's an insane .824 winning percentage overall and a .818 winning percentage in the postseason. Stuff of champions.
