Letter: Republicans wrong on Bengahzi

May 21, 2013

I don’t understand. This week we learned the operation in Bengahzi was primarily a CIA covert operation. My understanding is that General David Petraeus was in charge of the CIA at the time of the attack. As such, is it not Petraeus’ responsibility for the welfare of his operatives, and why is he not being held accountable for failure to lead responsibly and not providing for the safety of his operatives and the ambassador?

Or is this one more time the Republicans are overplaying destructive politics? I am looking forward to the next election.
