Letter: Corporations don’t deserve tax breaks

May 22, 2013

I read in your article about Apple avoiding income taxes that “in 2011, individual income taxes contributed $1.1 trillion to federal coffers, while corporate taxes added up to $181 billion.”

Given that the Supreme Court considers corporations “beings,” the tax rates (or loopholes) seem to be out of whack with individuals paying more than five times what corporations pay.
