World Trade Center Alaska and Alaska Export Assistance Center's International Trade Boot Camp Series for business people is a training program that features six half-day modules designed to give you strategies, insights and a network of contacts to successfully expand sales globally. Module 1 is "Export Financing," set for 8-11 a.m. Thursday at 1815 Bragaw St., Suite 102. Speakers from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Ex-Im Bank, Minority Small Business Development Agency, a local commercial bank and WTCAK's Alaska Export Assistance Center will give presentations. $40. The Alaska Chapter of the American Marketing Association has scheduled its annual Professional Development 2013 Summer Lecture Series. This brown bag luncheon series provides an in-depth perspective on marketing topics and trends. It's also a great way to network and meet other marketing professionals. The summer series will be held every second Thursday of June, July and August and feature a special guest speaker with an advertising background. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for networking and registration, and the guest speaker will begin at noon. All lectures will be held at the Carr Gottstein Building at Alaska Pacific University.
