Deadline extended for “Chef at the Market” grant proposals  


(Palmer, AK) – The Division of Agriculture has extended the deadline to submit proposals for the 2013 Chef at the Market program until June 19.

The Chef at the Market program provides grants to chefs who plan and host special events at Alaska farmers markets around the state, with the intent to bring attention and generate new customers for locally-grown produce, and to teach consumers how to cook and prepare Alaska Grown specialty crops.


Chefs are encouraged to apply to attend multiple markets in different locations and develop unique and creative events.  The Division intends to award multiple contracts as a result of this announcement.  For more information on how to apply visit:  Proposals need to be submitted via mail or e-mail no later than WEDNESDAY, June 19, 2013.  For questions please contact Kristi Krueger at or 907-761-3858.
