Letter: Coal dust prevented flooding

June 14, 2013

In the olden days, the Air Force had a base at Galena. They would spray coal dust on the ice before breakup and the sun would melt the ice and they never had any problems with flooding. Pray tell, why can’t we do simple things like that anymore and save all this flooding and misery?

Another subject: We too miss KHAR.  Those records are still around and probably the main disc jockey, Carl Hanson, is too. Some station should take advantage of this and make a lot of people happy.
