A motorhome rolled off the Edgerton Highway on Thursday near Chitina, then caught fire and burned a nearby wooded area, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Anchorage resident Esther Micua, 57, was driving the 27-foot motorhome northbound and towing a trailer with a fourwheeler on it when she drove off the road about 7 a.m. Thursday, troopers said in a written statement. It was near Mile 27.5 of the Edgerton Highway that the motorhome overturned, and Micua and her passenger escaped, troopers said.

It's unclear what caused the fire, but flames soon engulfed the motorhome, trailer and fourwheeler, troopers said. Trees close by also caught fire, and firefighters from the Chitina, Kenny Lake and Strelna fire departments rushed to put them out, troopers said.

The were no injuries reported. The vehicles and trailer were considered a total loss, troopers said.
