Restored faith. On Wednesday, June 12, I mistakenly left my wallet behind at the new Taco King on Boniface. Two hours later, when I discovered it missing, my husband and I went back to see if it had been turned in. It had not, nor was it in the booth where we had eaten.
On Saturday, June 15, after a morning away from home, we returned home to find my wallet, with all contents (you can imagine the list) including $16 and change still inside, on our front porch tucked under a doggie throw toy. There was no note left to identify the honest soul who drove out to Eagle River to return my wallet. My imagination will have to fill in the blanks.
Whoever you are, thank you for your kindness. I will pay it forward and your turn will come to be the recipient of good fortune. “You cannot do a kindness too soon for you never know how soon it will be too late” — Ralph Waldo Emerson.
