NAHL Kenai River looking for a new bench boss

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on June 25, 2013

Courtesy of a heads-up from Jeff Helminiak at the Peninsula Clarion -- the NAHL's Kenai Brown Bears are in search of a new head coach after bench boss Oliver David accepted an assistant coaching gig with the USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints.

If that seems like a downgrade in terms of a job, or a lateral move, it really isn't -- the USHL is the only Tier I junior league in the U.S., and Dubuque is the reigning league champ and a strong franchise, so from here it looks like a nice move for David.

Kenai River is coming off a strong season and has been on the upswing under David, who has guided the Brown Bears to three straight winning seasons.
