AACCC Adoption of the Week: Meet Athena

AnchorageJune 26, 2013

Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACCC public relations coordinator.

Please meet Athena, a 1 year old, spayed female, pit bull mix.  Very active, outgoing and enthusiastic, Athena has lots of energy and love to spare. She's very friendly and playful, and loves being with people. She's lived with miniature Pinschers and did fine, and enjoys playing with the other shelter dogs too. Handles fine on leash, sits politely for treats, is attentive and listens well. She's friendly with children, but may be too bouncy for really small kids. She's intelligent and would enjoy obedience training classes. Exuberant and very affectionate, she'll like a home that can provide plenty of exercise, attention and things to do.  Thank you to Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic for providing her spay surgery free of charge, reducing her adoption fee by $80!  She can now be adopted for $72, which includes her MOA dog license, vaccinations, and microchip. Call 343-8122 for more information.

Adoption update: Kenai and McGruber have been adopted :)
