Dimond 4, Fairbanks 3

Righthander Lucas Thorp struck out nine in a complete-game performance and contributed two singles Friday in Dimond’s 4-3 American Legion baseball victory over Fairbanks at Chad Bax Field.

Kenny Armstrong’s RBI single in the fifth inning lifted Dimond to a 4-2 lead. Payton Lauwers helped with a single, a double and a run.

Terrell Ford pitched a complete game for Fairbanks, striking out five and giving up five hits, and Adam Norton provided three of Fairbanks’ eight hits.

 

Eagle River 12, West 7

Eagle River pitcher Lauren Frost allowed one unearned run in five innings Thursday to help the Wolves takes down West 12-7 in American Legion baseball action.

Colby LeBlanc, Michael Rosenberg, Michael Fitzgerald and David Fuller collected two hits each to lead Eagle River, which struck early with five runs in the third inning.

Jacob Hilowitz and Sean Duffy had two hits apiece for West.
