BDO USA, LLP EXPANDS TO ALASKA THROUGH THE

ADDITION OF MIKUNDA, COTTRELL & COMPANY, INC.

 

- Largest CPA Firm in Alaska Brings Over 100 Professionals and Staff to BDO -

 

Chicago, IL – BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional service organizations, today announced an expansion into Alaska through the addition of more than 100 staff, including 6 partners, from Anchorage-based, Mikunda, Cottrell & Company, Inc.  Founded in 1977, Mikunda, Cottrell is the largest firm in Alaska and is viewed as one of the leading firms serving state and local governments, nonprofits, government contractors, employee benefit plans, healthcare, Alaska native for-profit corporations, individuals and small businesses.  The combination of BDO and Mikunda, Cottrell is effective July 1.  Mikunda, Cotrell was previously a member of the McGladrey Alliance.

Jim Hasle, who joined Mikunda, Cottrell in 1999 and has more than 20 years of accounting experience, will serve as the assurance managing partner for the Alaska practice.  Kevin VanNortwick, who joined the firm in 1998 and has more than 30 years of tax accounting experience, will serve as the tax managing partner for the practice.
